A Punkish Collage

STATEMENT:

A dark game where you must navigate through a floating billboard collage to finish. It’s a “poor” mimesis of Times Square, its commercials resurrected and degraded from Google Images, but indexical of its capitalist nature, where we are forced to participate, and must completely start-over should we fall. I chose the substrate of a game because I wanted people to enjoy with or without context; contemporary life leaves people little time. Blalock and Steyerl argues photos “draw”, not “perfect” reality, through purposefully amateurish editing; indies argue the same with games; I too, arranged my Times Square out of low-resolution, cropped images, that bizarrely float or rotate or glitch midair, using open-source software.

Press spacebar to jump, move forward or backward using up and down keys, look left and right using left and right keys.
